Loïs Masson Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Hello, In France, low-voltage grid connections are only available for photovoltaic plants with an apparent power of up to 250 kVA. However, in some cases, we need to to use several inverters, resulting in a total installed power higher than 250kVA. In this situation, inverters are subject to a static power limitation of 250 kVA to comply with low-voltage grid connection constraints. What's the best way to simulate this limitation in PVSYST ? Should I simply define a grid power limitation ? or should I change the maximum power output of my inverters in the .ond files ? I have tested both approaches but the results are not the same I would appreciate your insights on the most accurate way to model this scenario. Best regards
Linda Thoren Posted February 11 Posted February 11 Hello, Indeed if it is a grid limitation can be applied in the Energy management window, Grid power limitation, instead of modify the inverter. If the grid limit is in apparent power, note that you here can change the limit from active power to apparent power. Kind regards

I am using Huawei-125KTL-JPH0, mentioned that the pf range (0.8 lag- 0.8 lead) in the data sheet. This PCS has the nominal kW output of 125kW and max KVA rating is 140KVA. If you check the power triangle, pf can reduce to pf: 0.89 without compromising the active power output. and below this pf, PCS can not maintain the nominal active power output. In my case, Utility ask me to set the pf at 0.85. Is modify the pf inside (Energy management>power factor) enough to deal this case? Do I need to modify the ond file too? If pf is set at 0.9, I only modify the pf inside Grid management, but I am not sure it works for 0.85. I am looking forward for your response. Regards,
Linda Thoren Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Hello, Since the the power limitation is either in active or reactive power in PVsyst, adjusting the .OND file is indeed necessary to properly account for the inverter’s behavior at pf=0.85. In the output parameters in the .OND file, choose Apparent power and adapt the Nominal AC Power to 140 kVA in the Main parameters window. Make sure you rename the model and the file name to be used only in projects with a pf < 0.89 Regards,
