kip
Hi, How can I oversize string? In SolarEdge Designer it is possible to use more than 10 optimizer if it has at least 2 string, but PVsyst is limiting me only up to 10 optimizer. Anyone know how to fix this? Thank you
André Mermoud
The SolarEdge architecture obeys very strict rules, established by SolarEdge. PVsyst strictly applies these rules. These rules namely define the compatibility conditions between the optimizer and the inverter models, as well as some maximum sizing and operating limits. These limits are fixed by SolarEdge, specifically for each association Optimizer – Inverter. Here the problem is the maximum power admitted for this string with this inverter. Please ask SolarEdge. Solaredge tool itself allows for more than 11 optimizers per string. You can confirm with the optimizer datasheet. For 490W modules, we can connect up to 12020W per string if each unit has at least two strings. Also, PVsyst does not allow connecting an odd number of modules per string. (EX- 19 modules per string, last module with single module per optimizer) Please suggest
André Mermoud
Yes, same answer: PVsyst applies the rules edicted by SolarEdge. Please ask them. Now for the odd number of PV modules in a string of SolarEdge optimizers, this is indeed a weakness of PVsyst, that we have to correct in a next version.
