Convert a DWG/DXF file to PVC

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

I tried to import a plant layout (DWG) into Pvsyst, converting it into DAE. The problem is that it is very heavy to manage, so I thought about using the PVC format to see if it is easier to manage by the program.

Is it possible to convert a DWG/DXF file to PVC?

Thanks in advance

Regards

Dear Salvo,

Thank you for reaching out.

There is no way to convert DWG/DXF files to PVC files.

However the conversion from DWG to DAE shouldn't be very complex. Here is a thread explaining how to do it :

I hope this helps.

Stéphane

Hi Salvo,

We have gotten around this issue by using a Third Party AutoCAD add-on called PVCase.  Fantastic solar design tool.  I'm currently developing sites upwards of 1GWac/1.3GWDC.  Along with developing the full Solar design (Layout, cables, blocking, civil assessment, shading, etc.) it can generate .pvc files for your layout including shade objects. I'd urge you to look into it. www.pvcase.com and see  Ground mount option. They also have Roof Mount that exports to PVsyst also.  Good luck!
