Hi PVSYST Team,
Thank you for the implementation of the sub-hourly simulation feature in PVsyst 8.1. It is something many of us have been waiting for.
I am currently trying to generate meteorological data with a 15-minute resolution using different sources in PVsyst, and I have tested the following approaches:
Pull with Meteonorm 9: it seems to only allow hourly data or minute-level data. While minute data could technically work, generating datasets at that resolution can become quite heavy and time-consuming for large projects with complex topography.
Synthetic data generation: https://www.pvsyst.com/help/meteo-database/synthetic-data-generation/execute-generation.html
From what I can see, this option also only allows hourly or 1-minute frequency.
At the moment, the only way I have found to work with 15-minute data is by using the “Import a custom file” option. With the new import tool it is possible to specify a 15-minute timestep, which works well if the dataset already exists externally.
My question is the following:
Is there any option within PVsyst meteo databases (e.g., Meteonorm or tool synthetic generation) to directly generate sub-hourly data with a specific timestep such as 10, 15, or 30 minutes, instead of only hourly or 1-minute resolution?
Or is importing a custom dataset currently the only workflow for these intermediate time resolutions?
Thanks in advance for any guidance.
