Jay M Posted February 21 Posted February 21 I recall that with earlier versions of PVsyst, the "Computes the integrals for diffuse" step was only necessary for the initial simulation run of a variant, so long as no changes were made to the shading scene or orientation settings. With PVsyst 8.0.6 I'm finding that this step is repeated with every simulation run, even with *no changes in settings*. Please let me know if there's something that I'm missing. For some of my models with complex shading scenes, each simulation is taking several hours to complete.
Michele Oliosi Posted February 25 Posted February 25 Hi, indeed, we have noticed this issue. We will be fixing this in one of the upcoming patches. Thank you for the feedback !!
Jay M Posted February 27 Author Posted February 27 Thanks, Michele! Kindly mention in the release notes when this issue is fixed, so that I can know when to take up v8 again.
Michele Oliosi Posted March 11 Posted March 11 I put a note in the ticket about this. By the way, to speed up things when you are running several simulations, you can use the representative tracker mode (3D scene > Tools > Trackers diffuse shadings definition). Although less precise if you are doing many iterations it can save much time.
