c.katharotiya Posted January 2 Posted January 2 (edited) Hello, I have worked on project which is tracker PV system. If I run the same simulation with same inputs in Version 7.4.8 and Version 8.0.3, there is a huge gape of Near shading loss value and Electrical loss value in both versions. I have attached the simulation results and shading diagrams for both version. Is there any bug in the software or due to update? Thank you Edited January 2 by c.katharotiya
Michele Oliosi Posted January 3 Posted January 3 Hi ! We have unfortunately discovered two bugs that plagued version 8.0.4 and previous. This affected in prevalence average orientations on a complex topography, or whenever there were mesh shading objects such as the fences. We fixed these in version 8.0.5. Please let us know if this fixes the issue, thanks in advance !
c.katharotiya Posted January 3 Author Posted January 3 Hello, when I ran the simulation with same inputs even in new version 8.0.5, I have received the almost same result values of near shading loss and electrical loss as I received in version 8.0.3. I even found out a bit higher result values in new version 8.0.5. I have attached the simulation results and shading diagrams for version 8.0.5. I would appreciate if you address this point and return quickly for this point. Thank you!
Michele Oliosi Posted January 6 Posted January 6 Can you go to Near shadings > Table, and click on “recompute” ? This should update the shading factor table. Let us know if the issue persists.
c.katharotiya Posted January 7 Author Posted January 7 Hello, Even If I recompue and then ran the simulation, I have received the same result values of near shading loss and a bit lower value of electrical loss. I have again attached the simulation results and shading diagrams for version 8.0.5. If I ran the simulation now in V7.4.8, Near shading loss: -3.05 & Ele. loss: -0.82%. I have also attached the simulation results and shading diagrams for version 7.4.8. The issue still persists. Thank you!
Michele Oliosi Posted January 7 Posted January 7 There can be some differences between 7.4.8 and 8.0.5, these are explained by improvements of the modeling. However, in your case they seem a bit large (still about 0.5% or so in total). This might be normal or not, to be sure we would need to take a detailed look at your project. For this you would need to send it to support@pvsyst.com (mentioning this forum post). Note that the zip archive should be made to contain all necessary files, for example by using the "Export" functionality in the projet window.
