shri Posted February 15, 2024 Posted February 15, 2024 If module dimensions are scaled up or down in the PAN file, how does this affect energy? How does this differ from where we specify collector band width? Thanks.
buraq12 Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago If the module dimensions are scaled up or down in the PAN file, this changes the collector/aperture area, so the calculated energy output scales accordingly. A larger area produces more energy; a smaller one produces less, assuming the same efficiency and operating conditions. This is different from the collector band width, which is mainly a geometric or layout parameter used to describe how collectors are grouped or spaced in the model. Band width does not change the physical size or performance of an individual collector; it only affects how collectors are arranged or aggregated. In short: @royal Scaling PAN dimensions → changes active area → directly affects energy yield Collector band width → affects layout/representation, not single-collector energy
