Strongly oversized inverter - red alarm

Hello,

I have to use this type of modules - Thin film Avancis Powermax 145Wp, Vmpp (60°C) is 40,4V and Voc (-10°C) is 66,3 V - (max 10 pcs) and this type of inverter - Solarmax 6000C, 4,6kW, 90-560V Operating and Input Max Voltage 600V - (2 pcs). Once that I selected them (1 string - 8 modules for instance) the red alarm of "strongly oversized inverter" appears. If I add modules appears the red alarm "the arraay Voc -10°C is greater than the inverter absolute max input Voltage". Why this happens? What I have to change to let it work?

You have obviously some limitations in voltage and power when using an inverter. And also some reasonable conditions.

Your array of one string of 8 modules represents 1.16 kWp. This is obviously not suited for an inverter of 4.6 kW. PVsyst puts some reasonable limits.

Now when increasing the number of modules is series, you overcome the voltage limit. You should put several strings in parallel instead.
