zel32767
Hi,If I have a site with multiple orientation, in what location, position, orientation would I place my Solar radiation sensor to acheive the simulated irradiation and performance ratio?Do I need sensors for each orientation? André Mermoud
The best way will be to measure the irradiance in the horizontal plane. Then the program will do the transposition to any plane. If you can register the diffuse irradiance, the transposition accuracy will still be much better !
dtarin
Is using the method you described above a reliable or accurate method to generate global incident energy for multiple orientations? I have sites with multiple orientations but only 1 weather station, so I am curious to know if this can be used to create a simulated POA for system performance testing for multiple orientations. André Mermoud
Yes of course. The horizontal irradiance (usual Meteo data) is the normal input for the simulation. The POA values are computed from a Transposition model (Hay or Perez) for any plane orientation.
