Hi tecnun, You can find the workspace path from Files/Workspace, where PVsyst directories and User workspace are listed.

Thanks for your reply, @André Mermoud. Would it be possible to have your comments with some more description on this product sent to you? Thanks in advance. Rikio

Hello there, There is a kind of commercial product which was laminated into the module, used to optimize the cell strings. It functions different than a bypass diode, which yield proportionally to the shading area. Then how to simulate within PVsyst? The optimizer supplier suggest to simulate with "Unlimited shed", and define the string number to 3 per module. Is it the right way?

Some parameters within PVsyst would be presented at 2 different locations. As far as I know, LID and IAM could be reached from either PAN or “Detailed losses”. Why two accesses are set for them? If module manufacture set them in PAN file, and want users to run the simulation with the defined values, then it would be possible for user to modify them when setting up the model, without modifying the PAN file. And it may result in a different yield simulation result. In nowadays, some customers require module manufactures provide some kind of yield warranty, and a customized PAN file would be used in this case. Definitely, modification to the parameters would make some confusion. Could the two be integrated to one? Or which one would be used to run the simulation within PVsyst? BTW, regarding LID loss in “Additional Data” -> “Secondary parameter”, the link of help was wrongly directed to “Array Thermal Loss” page (A bug?).

Hello, Is it possible to create a folder under \PVsyst6_Data\ComposPV\PVmodules which is recognizable by PVsyst, to better manage the files? When many versions were created and saved under the same folder, it goes to a mess and not easy to distinguish them. You are very appreciated for any suggestion or comment. Thanks.

It seems auto update did not work well since V6.2+. New version need to be downloaded from the website, and install manually. Yes, it could be updated as well. But why have to do this when there is an online update tool ?

I think it is about the difference between orientation and tilt. 3D model did not set the oriention, ie. did not rotate the whole scene to match the orientation that has been set at previous page. So the warning message came out.

There are three options to define the sub-module partition: In length, In width and Mixed. But the option can not be selected by clicking on the check box. Is it a bug or just a display problem? PS: the version is V6.19

Personally speaking, i do not think the wind exposure could result in such a big difference. I have done such a comparison, and south facing array still get a higher yield. Aparna, which kind of module technology was used, c-si or a-si? Thin film modules may have a better power yield since the beter low light performance.

With varying irradiance, the factor you defined would not change. Since array STC power would not go up or down with the external condition changed, and the same for inverter AC nominal rating as well. But if the array STC size changed, the factor would be different accordingly. The factor is a value as the rule of thumb, but it is not recommended to size the inverter accroding to it, since ambient temperature, module orientation and other parameters need to be considered when doing specific system designing.

Have you tried to create a new OND file by filling the parameters in "Grid Inverter Definition" dialog? If no, you can access it from Tools/Grid Inverter/New. Some of them may be not easy to define, such as the efficiency curve. But others could be obtained through the specification. Good luck.

This module is relatively weak since users have to define too much parameters, to make it work. But it could be understand, since different locations, different economic evaluation models.

Hi all, Is it possible to simulate the power generation of BIPV double-glass modules? More and more BIPV projects have been set, and it is also a trend to come up with an integrated solution with building. In the solar module database of Photon, there is an option of BIPV too, but I did not find any BIPV module in the build-in database of PVsyst.
