PVsyst doesn't deliver MSI files directly, but it is possible extract them from the EXE setup which includes both 32-bit and 64-bit installers. Run Windows Command Prompt (cmd) and execute the command below: PVsyst-x.x.x.x-setup.exe /extract "<target-folder>" Replace the name of the EXE file with the correct version and <target-folder> with the path to the folder where you want the MSI file to be extracted (for example C:\Folder).

In order to install PVsyst silently, for example when deploying it remotely, you can use the following command line : PVsyst-7.4.0.31973-setup.exe /qn Just replace the EXE file name with the one you wish to install.

Hello, I am not sure this is something we can do with the forum engine. However here are two tips : When pasting the content you can use Ctrl+Shift+V to paste it and clear the formatting in the mean time When you want to add a carriage return, you can press Shift+Enter instead of Enter only to just add the new line and not a whole new paragraph I hope this will help !

Hello, The trial has all features and is lasting 30 days, after that the software will switch to DEMO mode where capabilites are very limited. During the trial there is also a watermark printed on the simulation report.

Cannot "Create orientation from selection"
Sylvain Pepoli replied to julmou's topic in Problems / Bugs
Hi julmou, You need to keep the Orientations management dialog opened, and then the menu items will be available. Maybe we should update the help topic to specify that one should not close it after step 1. -
Solution #1 When PVsyst is starting Windows checks if it is coming from PVsyst SA to ensure that this is an authentic copy of the software. This should guarantee that PVsyst is virus and malware free. If this check is failing a pop up is displayed: "The application can not start because it is not signed by PVsyst SA." If you downloaded PVsyst from http://www.pvsyst.com, the error is probably appearing because you are using an old Windows, which does not contain our security partner's certificate. Please follow this procedure to update your Windows certificate list: - In Windows, start menu >> Control panel >> Add or remove program >> Add/Remove Windows component - check "Update Root certificates" - click OK. - then restart the computer. Solution #2 It looks like sometimes, asking Windows to update certificates is not enough: it does not install the correct certificates. The other solution is to install certificates manually. Here is the procedure. 1.Download these 2 certificates: - https://cacerts.digicert.com/DigiCertTrustedG4CodeSigningRSA4096SHA3842021CA1.crt - https://cacerts.digicert.com/DigiCertTrustedRootG4.crt 2. Install these 2 certificates, so for each of them: - Double click on it - "Install certificate" - "Next", "Next",... (keep the default options) until the end. Start PVsyst again. Solution #3 If you are using Windows 7 and still encountering this issue, the following may be useful. First of all, you need to be logged in as an Administrator on the computer. Download the two following certificates : https://cacerts.digicert.com/DigiCertTrustedG4CodeSigningRSA4096SHA3842021CA1.crt https://cacerts.digicert.com/DigiCertTrustedRootG4.crt For each certificate : 1. Double-click the file 2. Click on Install certificate 3. Click on Next 4. Select Place all certificates in the following store, click Browse, check Show physical stores, select Trusted publishers > Local computer 5. Click OK, click Next, click Terminate Try running PVsyst again, and if adding both certificates still doesn't fix it, try the following steps : 1. Click Start, click Start Search, type mmc, and then press ENTER. 2. On the File menu, click Add/Remove Snap-in. 3. Under Available snap-ins, click Local Group Policy Object Editor, click Add, select the computer whose local Group Policy object (GPO) you want to edit, and then click Finish. 4. Click OK. 4. In the console tree, go to Local Computer Policy, Computer Configuration, Windows Settings, Security Settings, and then click Public Key Policies. 5. Double-click Certificate Path Validation Settings, and then click the Stores tab. 6. Select the Define these policy settings check box. 7. Under Per user certificate stores, clear the Allow user trusted root CAs to be used to validate certificates and Allow users to trust peer trust certificates check boxes. 8. Under Root certificate stores, select the Enterprise and third-party certification authorities radio, and then click OK to apply the new settings. And then try to run PVsyst again.

Hello, Could you please give more details because the screenshots all show an orientation of 10°/43° which seems correct ? -
PVsyst very slow in site file definition
Sylvain Pepoli replied to Bertolim's topic in Problems / Bugs
Hello, Please make sure that your computer and PVsyst are able to access the different URLs listed in this post : https://forum.pvsyst.com/topic/2524-web-services-for-all-pvsyst-functionalities From the error message, it seems like PVsyst can't load the map because it can't reach the server. -
Hello, Does the MP4 file exist in the folder you selected ? If yes, then maybe there is no default video player set for reading MP4 files. If not, it can be an antivirus issue preventing PVsyst to write the files required to generate the video file. Try to disable your antivirus temporarily and generate the video again. We have been working on improving video generation for version 7.2.5, hopefully this will fix these antivirus issues.

License activation error on a Virtual Machine
Sylvain Pepoli replied to Nils Lang's topic in Installation and use of PVsyst
Use PVsyst on a Microsoft Azure Virtual Machine WARNING : this will describe how to use PVsyst on an Azure Virtual Machine, which is different from Azure Virtual Desktop. Azure Virtual Dekstop is not suitable for PVsyst as it is running on a specific Windows version which is actually a Server version. To be able to use PVsyst on Azure VM you need to make sure that you attach a secondary hard drive to the VM because the OS harddisk ID will always change when rebooting the machine. So basically you can create a basic HDD (not even an SSD) of 32GB (minimum available size now) and attach it to the VM prior to activating PVsyst. If you already activated PVsyst on the machine, you need to contact our support in order to reset your license : https://www.pvsyst.com/contact/ -
Hello, You should be able to import trackers on a sloped terrain if you are using PVsyst 7.1. Make sure you update to 7.1.2 as we found out some special cases in which it was not possible to proceed to the simulation, and these have been fixed in this patch.

Shading for large 1GWc 1 axis tracker project problem
Sylvain Pepoli replied to Bertrand13's topic in Problems / Bugs
Hello, As Daniel suggested maybe the best is to only model a part of the plant, or at least split it into several variants. Also, you can maybe group some tables together if the layout is regular, this will simplify geometry. I would suggest to remain below 10'000 tables (the lower the better) for PVsyst to handle it correctly. -
Hello Michele, Thank you for all these improvement ideas. About the slow report generation, I couldn't find any mail from you about it, maybe you can try to host it somewhere and send us the link ? We put a lot of efforts answering to emails and if one of your mails gets no response then you should send us a reminder. Actually this forum is meant to be an FAQ as well as a space for PVsyst users to exchange or help each others. We do provide some support when we come around here, but the best you should expect is from emails. An additional note : the PVsyst license doesn't include technical support, we provide it for free and we try to help all users equally.
