Hi, we model a lot of utility scale solar farms in the UK, which use predominantly monocrystalline n-type modules. Occasionally we use p-type modules.
Should we be incorporating Spectral Correction into the simulations?
Our understanding is that the CREST model is only for Amorphous silicon/thin film modules
Also, the spectral correction for PV modules in the Sandia database... I couldn't find the database online but since the paper was released in 2004, this would not have included any modern modules. Has this database been updated recently?
Finally, the FirstSolar spectral correction "is not validated by the scientific community". Hence, we do not use it.
Is our understanding correct? Is there any situation which the Spectral Correction should definitely be used with monocrystalline modules in the UK?
