  1. Are you saying that the (front-side) near shading loss would be lower if i modelled a bifacial system because these systems are more precisely modelled or defined, even though the near shading losses happen before any bifacial modelling in the loss diagram (and should be independent of whether the system is mono or bifacial)?
  2. Sorry, the albedo shading factor should be *~65% and *~48% during these times, not sure what happened there
  3. Thank you. Is that a fair assumption that only the first row is "seeing" the albedo? With typical GCR ~40% or lower there will be sun hitting the ground between the panels by early to mid morning. E.g. in my snip above (36% GCR), at 8am only 65% of the ground is shaded and at 9am only 48% is. So the albedo shading factor should be ~35% and ~52% during these times?
  4. Hi, how is the albedo shading component (ShdALss) calculated? I have read the help pages on this topic but i am still not clear how this functionally works, sorry. https://www.pvsyst.com/help/project-design/shadings/calculation-and-model/index.html https://www.pvsyst.com/help/project-design/shadings/calculation-and-model/treatment-of-the-albedo-component.html#far-shadings Why does the albedo shading loss have this profile on a clear-sky day (single-axis tracking system): ? TIA
  5. When i provide GHI as input but not DHI (so PVsyst has to calculate DHI), why does the PVsyst output report say "Diffuse: Perez, Meteonorm" under "Models used" when the PVsyst advice on this is that the Erbs model is used and Perez is not currently implemented? https://www.pvsyst.com/help/physical-models-used/irradiation-models/diffuse-irradiance-model.html TIA
  6. How do we define north at the top? This is very irritating as in the simulation report the shading scene shows upside down. I have tried "save this view for the report" with north upwards but it is still flipped when i produce the simulation report (or click "load report view")
  7. Thanks. What simulation parameters influence these losses? e.g. diffuse irradiance (total amount or fraction), GCR, albedo, etc?
  8. Why is there a near shading loss for a single-axis tracking system with backtracking, when there is no 3D shading scene? The backtracking should prevent any self-shading and there are no objects or terrain modelled to cause other near shadings. TIA
