Hi Linda, Thank you for your prompt response. For the plant with 20MW grid limitation and 0.85 pf, we can connect 168 nos. of pcs instead of 160, right?

Correct selection of simulation variables for vertical bifacial PV
sagar b replied to Luis Zimmermann's topic in Simulations
Hi Luis, I would like to know more about your vertical bifacial project. Would you share me your project location, DC, AC, mounting height with nos. of module in Y and X, and real time project result? I am planning to consider vertical bifacial in heavy snowfall locations. Waiting for your response. Regards, -
Hi Linda, I have similar question. I am using Huawei-125KTL-JPH0, mentioned that the pf range (0.8 lag- 0.8 lead) in the data sheet. This PCS has the nominal kW output of 125kW and max KVA rating is 140KVA. If you check the power triangle, pf can reduce to pf: 0.89 without compromising the active power output. and below this pf, PCS can not maintain the nominal active power output. In my case, Utility ask me to set the pf at 0.85. Is modify the pf inside (Energy management>power factor) enough to deal this case? Do I need to modify the ond file too? If pf is set at 0.9, I only modify the pf inside Grid management, but I am not sure it works for 0.85. I am looking forward for your response. Regards,

Hi Abeer, Above link will help you to know about the IAM loss. Just make sure you are using the correct pan file when doing the simulation. If manufacturer send you the pan file, you need to customize IAM, use PVsyst default depending on your module is AR coating or not. Same for the Relative efficiency at low light. Use default Rse to get the Rel. efficiency of -3% at 200W/m2. There is no problem if you use the pan file of the PVsyst database.

Thanks Linda for you prompt response.

Grid-connected PV plant with battery storage and no self consumption
sagar b replied to Vasil Janevski's topic in How-to
Hi, Yes, we can see the stored energy in battery but in self consumption, the priority is given to the user. But, we need to reconsider the size of battery by ourselves. -
Hi Linda, In my one project, the default variability value of weather data is 8.1%. I've used the Meteonorm data source. Due to this, P(90) estimation is calculated lower than expected. For most of the projects, I've noticed that this default variability value lies between 3-5%. Do you have any suggestion on how to customize it?

Grid-connected PV plant with battery storage and no self consumption
sagar b replied to Vasil Janevski's topic in How-to
Hi Linda, In my case, I've same output capacity of solar inverter and grid limitation. But, I am going to integrate the battery in this system. How can i reflect this in simulation? For this case, Peak shaving strategy can not charge the battery. Can't see any changes in loss diagram. Do you have any suggestion for this? -
hybrid grid-connected system with PV and an Energy Storage System (ESS)
sagar b replied to Theodor's topic in Simulations
Hi, Your case fits the 'time shifting' strategy. Day ahead and all these should be monitored by EMS along with BMS. Time shifting strategy is not available in PVsyst. I think, they are working on it. -
Grid-connected PV plant with battery storage and no self consumption
sagar b replied to Vasil Janevski's topic in How-to
Hi Linda, What if I don't want to sell in the day time? Peak shaving strategy only store the energy that can not be injected into the grid due to grid limitation. -
Hi Mariyam, E_user= EfrGrid+E_Solar; where E_Solar is total solar generation- injected energy from solar to grid. EDiruse= [((E_Solar+E_grid)*% of direct use)-E_grid] E_user= Efrgrid+E_solar E_solar here is energy to user from solar but to know the total solar generation from your plant, you need to add E_grid. In your case, E_grid is 0. So, E_Solar= Total solar generation. You can get it all from the bottom part of loss diagram. Hope this helps.
