I´m trying to simulate a pv roof system with 2 orientations of the pv generator. One is on the southern side of the roofs 6° tilt and 14° azimuth. The second is on the northern side of the roofs 6°tilt and -166° azimuth.

I tried to define the two orientations in the orientation input box. Normally PVsyst recognizes the two orientations in the 3d shading scene but in this case it only recognizes one orientation (6° tilt and 14° azimuth) and wants to correct it in the orientation input box. If I delete all pv modules on the southern side, PVsyst recognizes the northern oriented modules (6°tilt and -166° azimuth). If I add again the southern oriented modules than, PVsyst recognizes all modules with an orientation of 6°tilt and -166° azimuth but not with 14° azimuth.

Has anyone an idea to solve the problem? Why does PVsyst does not recognize the two orientations in the 3D scene?

I use Version 6.5.3 but tried 6.4.7 too with the same results.

Best regards
Gordon

Try changing the discriminating angle, set to 1 degree. See image.

Is there a limit in the number of orientations defined in the 3D model? The Orientations tab allows up to 8, but the shadings part only recognises two orientations. Refer to the system overview extract below.

Orientation parameters
Field type: Several orientations
5 orientations: tilt/azim = 30°/-1°, 30°/-39°, 30°/75°, 30°/-15°,
30°/-105°, <- These were defined manually in the Orientations Tab

Shading scene parameters <- These are the individual fields in the 3D shading scene

10 fields defined Total Area 948.0 m²
Field #1: polygonal Polygonal field
Total area = 138.0 m²
Orientation #-2 Tilt/Azimut = 30.0° / 28.0° < Notice 28 degree Azimut, Orientation #2
Not matching any definition in the "Orientation" part !

Field #2: polygonal Polygonal field
Total area = 138.0 m²
Orientation #-1 Tilt/Azimut = 30.0° / 28.0° < Notice 28 degree Azimut, Orientation #1
Not matching any definition in the "Orientation" part !

Field #3: polygonal Polygonal field
Total area = 138.0 m²
Orientation #-1 Tilt/Azimut = 30.0° / 75.0° < Notice 75 degree Azimut, Orientation #1
Not matching any definition in the "Orientation" part !

Field #4: polygonal Polygonal field
Total area = 138.0 m²
Orientation #-1 Tilt/Azimut = 30.0° / 75.0°

Field #5: polygonal Polygonal field
Total area = 138.0 m²
Orientation #-1 Tilt/Azimut = 30.0° / -105.0° < Notice -105 degree Azimut, Orientation #1
Not matching any definition in the "Orientation" part !

Field #6: polygonal Polygonal field
Total area = 138.0 m²
Orientation #-1 Tilt/Azimut = 30.0° / -105.0°

Field #7: polygonal Polygonal field

Hello Hennie,

Please try to open the shadings scene and click on "Tools -> Edit orientations", and then click on "Identify orientations".
This should fix the identification in the shadings.

This kind of situations should not happen anymore with version 6.65 to be released soon, as this is something we have fixed already.
