For creating an "Interactive map", PVsyst needs to get an access to Internet for using the web service "GoogleMap". In some companies the accesss to internet from applications is securized through a proxy or a Firewall.

Our proxy settings implementation is actually limited to some common proxies. If your proxy uses a proprietary way for authentication, then it will not work, and we cannot do anything.
What we usually suggest in this case, is to configure your environment (proxy/firewall) to allow PVsyst to go over internet. PVsyst actually uses only 3 accesses :

- License management (activation, transfer, sync) : https://secure.pvsyst.com/activationCenter/
- Meteo definition via Google Map : https://maps.google.com
- PVsyst's software update : http://download.pvsyst.com/.

However the "Interactive map" is not necessary for creating a new site: you can simply choose the page "Geographical coordinates", and explicitely define your site by its GPS coordinates (Latitude, Longitude, Altitude, Time Zone), which you can get from other sources.
The "Interactive map" is only a tool for simplifying your life.

Please note that the Interactive map is an additionnal feature but it does not stop PVSyst from working properly.
If you still have issues after trying the below procedure, you can use Google Maps directly from your web browser (at https://maps.google.com/) and insert your geographical coordinates (Latitude, Longitude, Altitude) manually in PVsyst using the Geographical Coordinates tab:

On 21/11/17, Google has upgraded their map service used in PVsyst to enter geographical coordinates. With the new version, old internet browsers are not supported anymore leading to the following error:

This error is related to the use of Google Maps web services from a Windows application like PVsyst. In order to solve this problem you have to perform the following operations:

1) Make sure your Operating System is up-to-date using Windows Update. More specifically the Internet Explorer must be up to date

2) Make sure you have PVsyst v6.6.6 or later installed

3) In case your support has expired, you can buy an additional year of support online at:

The following procedure allows to solve interactive map issue for PVsyst versions older than 6.6.6:

1) Replace file GoogleMap\googlemap.html of PVsyst install directory with the one attached in this post:

2) Install the latest version of PVsyst (v6.6.7 as off now) or later installed in PARALLEL (This is very important, make sure you do a PARALLEL install when prompted). You can find it here http://www.pvsyst.com/en/download

3) Start the latest version of PVsyst and use the interactive map to enter the geographical coordinates of a new site

4) Start your old version of PVsyst and verify that you can use the interactive map successfully.
