ShivamPandey Posted March 1 Posted March 1 Why Albedo from the project setting is not copied to the variant bifacial model, we always have to enter values two times. If we need to edit a variant albedo, we can do it manually later during variant design. What is the use of project setting albedo?
Michele Oliosi Posted March 1 Posted March 1 Hello, we have a ticket so we will add this copy functionality at some point in the future. These two albedo values are generally different. The one in the project settings is the "far" albedo that usually affects the front side of the front row of tables. The bifacial albedo is the albedo of the ground below the module rows directly.

Just for my understanding, is it possible to have different albedo for the far and bifacial model or it should be the same if we have albedo values available? Project setting albedo is used for simulation even if modules are mono-facial.
Michele Oliosi Posted March 5 Posted March 5 Yes they can be different ! For example, if your system is on a roof, you can paint the roof in white. Then the albedo for the bifacial model would be high (white paint), but the surrounding albedo (concrete, grass, anything) would be lower.
