Design plant layout after having imported the topographic data

Hi everyone,

Is it possible to design the plant layout after having imported the topographic data directly into PVsyst, or is it better to do this preliminary operation in another software and then import the pvc file?

Thanks in advance

Detailed design should be done outside of PVsyst. If you need something high-level or indicative, PVsyst can work, but it is better to use a software intended for PV design.

Do I make a correct assessment by transferring the topography of the land to pvsyst with csv and then positioning and simulating it in pvsyt?
Or are there any other steps I need to take to make an accurate production estimate?

Hi,

To place the panels on the land you have several options, like creating them manually from the PVsyst menu, creating a zone and filling it with PV fields or importing the panels from another software.

Once everything is set up properly you can run the simulation.

If you want to import a ground image you can follow these help sections:

https://www.pvsyst.com/help/index.html?ground_image.htm

https://www.pvsyst.com/help/index.html?ground_image_control.htm

https://www.pvsyst.com/help/index.html?ground_image_control_usage.htm

I hope this helps.

Hi,

When the 3D Shadow Scene screen opens, you will see several tools loaded in the upper right corner of the program.
By clicking on the "Shadow Properties" button, you can set the intensity, color, visibility, etc. of the shadows. You can open a menu to set its variables.

where is this i couldn't find it??

Hi,

When you open the 3D scene you can see on the right the list of objects that are in the scene. You can double click on an object to open its details:

In the detailed view of an object you can adjust the settings about the shadows casting of this object :

You can watch the following 2 videos to learn more details about how to draw buildings and objects in the 3D scene:

I hope this helps.
