allison.mueller Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 Hello, I came across an issue that causes slight differences in energy output without changing anything within the variant. We often use a LID loss of 1.55% in our simulations. I've noticed that running the simulation right away will maintain the value exactly as entered, but once you save the simulation and re-open the variant later, it will round to 1.6%. Would it be possible to change this behavior?
dtarin Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 (edited) Have you defined LID only under detailed losses? If you define LID in the PAN file, it should stick; used 7.2.21 to test. Select "take value from module spec" in detailed losses. Edited March 17, 2023 by dtarin
allison.mueller Posted March 21, 2023 Author Posted March 21, 2023 Thanks, the issue with that is we don't like to modify our PAN files directly but I appreciate knowing that works as a work-around!
dtarin Posted March 22, 2023 Posted March 22, 2023 (edited) Another place to check is under advanced parameters setting the default value. But looking at it from another perspective, rounding in either direction is a difference of < 0.05% at the meter, and a second decimal might imply some level of precision that may or may not be there.
