In self consumption mode, does the inverter meets user's need when no grid is available. Does the self consumption mode uses Grid tied Inverter in Anti -Islanding mode only with Battery charger? If not then how self consumption mode is different from the Weak grid mode which uses grid tied inverter in Islanding mode using special battery inverter.

Hi,

Such an evaluation has to be performed hour-by-hour, as the energy exchanges are instantaneous.

Therefore, this requires the definition of the User's needs hourly profile as input parameter.

In the project's dialog, the self-consumption will be activated as soon as you define a valid user's needs profile.

Now during the simulation, there are several running modes:

The self-consumption strategy with storage may have different objectives:

We have the following operating modes:

The charging or discharging are limited by the PMaxCharge of the charger, or the PMaxDischarge of the battery inverter.

Hi ,

Thank you for detailed clarification. However my concern is that what would be scenario in the absence of Grid (E_grid) in self consumption mode with storage as all the operating modes indicated above, has presence of active Grid connection to provide deficient energy for User's need.

Hi,

In "grid connected" systems we don't take into account the "untimely" absence of the grid.

An option is available from "detailed losses" tab to add a system downtime factor.

In your case, you should rather carry out a "stand Alone" simulation in order to calculate and size your PV system, regulator, storage according to your user load.
