Rapha123 Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 I have been thinking and I don't think horizon shading should be included in the PR calculation, it should be subtracted from the global inclined irradiation then the PR is calculated from this effective GII. This is because if you have a pyranometer installed on-site in the plane of the modules, you will never get theincident irradiation which has been blocked by the horizon shading.Thoughts?
André Mermoud Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 You are right. The horizon shading is a very difficult problem, also for the interpretation of the results. In PVsyst it is calculated explicitely, and is included in the PR. With measured data, it is not. What is the official definition of the in the norm IEC EN 61724 ? I'm not sure, but I think this uncertainty is not addressed. Please see the FAQ How is treated the Horizon contribution in Meteo data?.
