For the near shadings, there is a Tutorial with an example in the help ("Overview" / "Tutorials").

For the Module Layout, we did not write a tutorial up to now, but the procedure is described in detail (step by step) in the Help of the version 6: "Project design" / "Module Layout" / "Summary of the Procedure".
