shading Scene layout

Hi,

As I am simulating Bi-Facial system with PVH single axis tracker and configuration is 2 high modules in landscape. The spacing in tracker between both modules is 170mm to reduce shadow effect on the rear side. For Module size 1.978*0.997 If we keep module spacing same (0.17 Mtrs.) then collector width should be as below:

0.997+0.17+0.997 = 2.164 Mtrs.

But as per near shading layout its 2.33. Find image. its quite confusing.

 

 

It seems in simulation spacing considered 2 times, where space should be between the modules not outer side of modules.

Please correct if I am wrong.

Hello,

PVsyst adds half of the X spacing at both sides, which is why you get 2.33m, same for Y spacing.

This has been a convention since the beginning, in order to consider the spacing around each module equally.
