Thiébault Posted March 8, 2017 Posted March 8, 2017 Good morning PVsysters,I have a question regarding the thermal loss factors. From your experience, which values should be considered when simulating a mounting system that is integrated but also with an air duct behind ? For example, a system similar to the "Easy Roof" solution: modules are in the same plane as the roof (integrated) but there is a 2-3cm wide air duct behind. Modules are not "fully insulated", but also not as ventilated as non-integrated roof-mounted systems.Should I tick the "integrated" box, the "semi-integrated" box, or are there Uc/Uv middle-ground values that should be used ?Thank you for your consideration.
André Mermoud Posted March 8, 2017 Posted March 8, 2017 Please see the Help "Project design > Array and system losses > Array Thermal losses".However with a spacing of 3 cm, you don't have any air circulation and heat exchange (or a negligible one), and you can consider your PV array as back insulated.
Thiébault Posted March 8, 2017 Author Posted March 8, 2017 Thank you for your feedback. I had looked at the Help but needed to make sure, and your answer confirms what I got from it.
